Expectations for 2011 Hurrican Season

The coast, we all love it. But the people who live on it have to deal with dangers most tourists never see, hurricanes. Hurricanes do massive wind and water damage to anywhere they strike as most of us remember Hurricane Katrina hitting New Orleans. Unfortunately for my coastal friends the experts are calling for another busy hurricane season. They are calling for an expected 16 tropical storms with 9 of them turning into full fledged hurricanes. Thanks to the CNN Wire Staff we have probabilities from Colorado State University on what will happen.
  • 72% chance of atleast one major hurricane hitting the U.S coastline in 2011
  • 48% chance of a major hurricane hitting the East Coast including the Florida Panhandle
  • 47% chance of a major hurricane hitting the Gulf Coast stretching from the Western Florida Panhandle, over to Texas
To all my friends on the coast, please stay alert and have your emergency plans in place. Best of luck to you in this upcoming season and stay safe!

  3. Where I live I have close to zero worries like this. No earthquakes, tsunamis, floods or hurricanes. Best of luck to all living in exposed areas.
